Codfish is one of the most popular and traditional fish prepared in Portugal. It can be done in 1001 ways. Here we suggest you one of the most common recipes.
For this recipe, you will need:
1 Kg of spineless codfish
2 green peppers
2 red peppers
2 garlic cloves
12 medium peeled potatoes, cut in cubes
4 laurel leaves
Wash and peel the peppers and cut them in strips.
In the hot Cataplana, pour the olive oil, the onion and the laminated garlic.
Add the potatoes, the laurel, the drained codfish, the clams, the crayfishes and a little red pepper.
Close the Cataplana and cook in slow fire for 30-60 minutes.
